Now or later? The six-question check

Answer six questions honestly. You'll get a lean-now, closer-look or lean-later result, with the reasons behind it.

1Is the opportunity proven?

A signed order, a waitlist, declined jobs you've logged, a trial that worked.

2Is waiting costing you money every month?

Lost profit, repairs, hire, overtime, outsourcing, late fees.

3Is there a deadline you can't move?

A discount expiry, a price rise, a lease offer, a season, 30 June.

4Would the decision create the cash to repay?

Extra sales, savings or protected income arriving soon after.

5Would repayments clash with wages, super or BAS?

Look at the next three months of cash flow.

6Is anything decisive about to change?

A contract signing, tender result, council decision or a much stronger quarter.

What the quiz is looking for

Timing decisions usually turn on the same handful of factors. The quiz weights them the way we would in a first conversation:

    • Evidence matters most. Borrowing for a proven opportunity is a very different risk from borrowing for a hunch.
    • The monthly cost of waiting tells you whether delay is quietly expensive. Our cost-of-waiting calculator puts a dollar figure on it.
    • Hard deadlines — a discount, a price rise, a lease, a season or 30 June — can turn a "maybe" into a "now".
    • Self-funding repayments are the healthiest kind: the decision creates the cash that repays it.
    • Cash-flow clashes with wages, super (paid with each pay run under Payday Super from 1 July 2026) or your BAS are a strong reason to restructure or wait.
    • Imminent news — a contract, tender or decision weeks away — is usually worth waiting for.

For the full framework, read the five questions that decide it, and for the honest case for patience, when waiting is smarter.

Whatever your result, you can ask us about your situation. Enquiring takes about a minute, involves no credit check, and goes to one team rather than a list of lenders. Accurate answers help us tell you straight whether now or later suits you.

    Quiz questions

How accurate is the now-or-later quiz?

It's a quick gut-check that highlights the factors that usually decide timing. For a dollar comparison, use the cost-of-waiting calculator, and for a real answer on finance, talk to a lending specialist.

What if my result is 'take a closer look'?

It means your answers are mixed. Look at the questions where you scored lowest — usually evidence or cash-flow timing — and see whether a few weeks of preparation would change them.

Does the quiz collect my answers?

No. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

Can I still enquire if the quiz says wait?

Of course. There's no credit check to enquire, and a specialist can tell you what would need to change for the answer to become now.

Decided now is the time? See if you qualify.

A 60-second enquiry, no credit check to ask, and one lending specialist who works on your numbers rather than passing them around. If waiting looks smarter, we will say so.
