Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the operators of Loans Now ("we", "us", "our"), handles personal and business information when you use this website or enquire about business finance. We manage personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to understand your enquiry and help arrange business finance. That can include:

your name, phone number, email address and role in the business;
business details such as your ABN or ACN, business name, industry, trading history, state and monthly revenue;
how much you want to borrow, what it's for and when you need it;
details of any property you may offer as security;
identification documents, financial information such as bank statements and financial statements, and details of existing debts;
credit information, once you decide to proceed; and
information about other people connected to the application, such as co-directors or guarantors.

Most information comes directly from you through our online enquiry form, by phone or by email. We also record how you found our website (for example the page you first landed on and the page you enquired from) so we can understand which information is useful. With your consent we may obtain information from credit reporting bodies, identity and bank-statement verification services, public registers such as the Australian Business Register and ASIC, and professionals you nominate, such as your accountant.

How we use it

to respond to your enquiry and talk with you about suitable finance options;
to assess and arrange business finance with the lender best suited to your situation — we don't send your details out to a long list of lenders;
to verify your identity and the details you give us;
to comply with our legal obligations;
to run our business, keep records, handle complaints and improve our website and services; and
to tell you about other business finance options that may suit you — you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

To arrange your finance we may share information with the lender and funders involved in your application, related finance businesses that assess and settle business loans, credit reporting bodies (only once you choose to proceed), verification providers, valuers (for property-secured loans), professional advisers, our IT and service providers, and government bodies or regulators where the law requires it. Some providers may store data outside Australia; where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.

Your consent

When you submit an enquiry you consent to us collecting, using and sharing your information for the purposes in this policy, and to us contacting you by phone, SMS and email about your enquiry. Enquiring doesn't involve a credit check; we'll ask before any credit check happens.

If you give us information about someone else, such as a co-director or guarantor, you confirm you're authorised to do so and that you've told them about this policy.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. When we no longer need information for any lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us through our contact page marked "Privacy request", and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
